Tax why it hurts so bad when you have to pay it!
Most people I have met in life understand that you may not like paying tax but its part of the fabric of the society we live in .They get on with graciously paying the tax they owe.
Sometimes paying a big tax bill is painful and we get that . The pain for some is so great that people start questioning tax assessment and find every excuse as to why they shouldn’t pay it.
Here are our top questions that we get asked about the pain of paying tax:
- Why do I have to pay tax?
A – Simple you earned money and supported a family and lifestyle .In our Country, we all must pay our share of the radar on the warship, the roads and hospitals
- Last year I got a refund now I have to pay, have you got it wrong?
A – Often it’s not what you get from your tax return its what tax you pay in taxes. For those in business, your income can go up or down; you might have more deductions this year that could result in a refund of tax paid.
3.Why do rich people not pay tax and I do ?
A -Sometimes people avoid paying tax through bright schemes and lots of Trusts and Companies . We don’t advocate this and work within the parameters of the tax laws and keep you out of jail.
- My mate just got his refund and its a lot more than mine !
A – Maybe he paid more tax than you or has a shonky accountant
- If I pay tax is that good or bad ?
A – If you are making money then this is great then be happy to pay tax . Those that don’t make money don’t pay tax
- My taxes are not spent wisely so the Tax Office can sign for their money!
A – We all must pay taxes this is the law of the land . If you don’t like the way they spend your taxes, don’t vote them
- My mate claims lots of things why can’t I ?
A – We understand what you can claim, but we also understand what will get you in the ATO’s spotlight. We are always happy to discuss, but ultimately we try and keep you happy and keep you paying the right amount of tax legally possible.
Finally the classic quote – why am I not getting a return?
A – If you don’t pay tax, there is nothing to get back!
Ultimately, we don’t need new taxes. We need new taxpayers, people that are gainfully employed, making money and paying into the tax system. And then we need a government that has the discipline to take that additional revenue and use it to pay down the debt and never grow it again. Marco Rubio
